Rideshare atWestern.

Western students split the two-hour 401 drive to Toronto every weekend and reading week, and Kitchener and Windsor are the other steady directions.

Rides students actually take.

The corridors that fill from Western on Friday afternoons and empty back on Sunday nights. Every route page shows the drive, the fair-share guidance and who is going.

Where drivers pick up.

The spots on and around campus that drivers name most often when they post a ride. Every ride lists its exact pickup and any stops before you book.

  • Masonville
  • Richmond Gates
  • Downtown London

Finding each other is the easy part: you confirm a pickup PIN, both phones show the same pickup colour, and the trip goes live on the map from the moment the driver starts moving.

Your campus Circle

Start the Western Circle.

Circles are created by members, not by Loop. Open the app, create a Circle for Western, and invite the group chat. Rides, events and posts from your campus then live in one place.

Showing up earns Loop Rep: post rides, welcome newcomers, keep things moving. Rep is how members grow into moderator roles, so the Circle is run by the people in it, with real moderation tools behind them.

Why students use Loop.

Three things the group chat cannot do: split the cost fairly, let you choose who you ride with, and make sure you find the car.

Split the real cost

A seat is a share of the driver's real cost, not a fare. ON's cost-sharing rules cap what a driver may collect (22¢ per km per seat is the ceiling), and real seats sit well under it. Never surge. And about 3% of every ride comes back as Loop Coins you spend at checkout.

How pricing works

Rides you choose

Women can post women-only rides that only women can book, enforced by Loop's servers. Verified-only rides work the same way. Comfort is a preference, not a favor.

About women-only rides

Find the car, every time

A pickup PIN confirms you are in the right car, live trip status shows where it is, and a share-my-trip page lets someone at home follow along, no app needed.

Questions from Western.

The four things people ask before their first ride. More answers on thefull FAQ.

Do I need a student email to use Loop at Western?

No. Anyone can join Loop and book or post rides; there is no student email requirement. Verifying a student email in the app is optional and adds a trust signal to your profile. Rides at Western are open to neighbours, staff, co-op commuters and anyone going the same way.

How much does a ride home from Western cost?

Drivers set the seat price when they post a ride, and it is usually a fraction of what the trip costs to run. ON cost-sharing rules cap it at 22¢ per km per seat, a ceiling rather than the going rate. For London to Toronto, that works out to about $14 per seat. Prices stay inside your province's cost-sharing cap and never surge, on exam night or any night. What you see at booking is what you pay, and you earn about 3% back in Loop Coins on every ride.

Is Loop safe?

Every driver completes ID and licence verification before posting a ride. At pickup you confirm a PIN so you know you are in the right car, both of you can follow live trip status, and you can share a live trip page with someone at home. Ratings are blind and two-way. Women can post women-only rides that only women can book, enforced by Loop's servers, and verified-only rides work the same way. See how rides work.

Can I drive and earn with Loop?

Yes. Driving home for the weekend anyway? Post your empty seats, set a price under your province's guidance, and riders cover their share of a trip you were making already. Cash out to your bank for free, or instantly to your debit card. Your earnings dashboard tracks every trip.
