Rides live inside communities: a Circle for your campus, your city or the thing you are into. Events show up there too, so the ride to the game or the concert starts in the same place as the plan. You always book yourself; nothing auto-charges.

Honest answer: the network. Poparide has a head start, and their site says more than 2 million people have joined. On any given day they list more routes than we do, and on a corridor Loop does not have rides for yet, that matters more than any feature.

Loop is newer and campus-first. Our route pages show the real number of upcoming rides when there are any, and say so when there are not. If your corridor is quiet on Loop today, post the ride you are already driving: that is how every corridor starts.

Which should you use?

A plain decision guide. Most people end up with two apps installed, and that is fine.

    You are a student or commute to a campus.

    Start with Loop. Campus Circles, the Friday and Sunday corridors, and women-only rides are built for exactly this. A student email is optional, never required.

    You need a seat on a specific day and cannot wait.

    Check both. Poparide lists more rides today; Loop's route pages tell you honestly whether anyone is going. Take the ride that exists.

    You want to ride with women only, or verified people only.

    Loop. The rule is enforced when the ride is booked, not left to a note in the listing. Comfort is a preference, not a favor.

    You drive a corridor every week.

    Post it on Loop as a recurring series once and it reposts itself weekly. Your empty seats lost you money last month; a standing ride is the fix. Cash out for free to your bank whenever you like.

Is Loop free?

Downloading Loop and browsing rides is free, and there is no membership or subscription. When you book, the seat price you see already includes Loop's 15% service fee. A small platform fee of $1, $3 or $5, depending on trip length, is added at checkout and waived after your first 10 rides.

Can I use Loop and Poparide at the same time?

Yes. Nothing stops you from searching or posting on more than one app, and plenty of drivers list a trip in a couple of places and take whichever fills first. On Loop the price is guided by your province's cost-sharing rate and never surges, so it is worth a look before you book anywhere.

Does Loop have women-only rides?

Yes. A woman can post a ride that only women can book, and Loop's servers enforce it rather than leaving it as a preference. Verified-only rides work the same way for riders who have completed ID verification. See the safety FAQ.

Is Loop available in my city?

Loop works across Canada: rides are posted wherever drivers are going. Start with the city pages or the route pages, which show the corridors people search most, then open the app to see everything departing near you.
